Really? Those are the eyes of a 48-year-old grad. student who doesn't get enough sleep! I'm flattered...

Polly wouldn't hold still to be in the photo properly, but I tried.

Yes your eyes, and you don't look tired or 48 either.

Marietta dear,

I live in a "flat" too, an apartment, top floor, with an elevator which we have to take in order for Polly to get outside. but she does fine! We walk a lot every day, of course. It's a dog building, almost everyone has a dog, so she's in good company.

But yes, you sound like you work long hours away from your flat, whereas I work at home, so that's a huge difference when it comes to keeping a dog happy.

Thanks for the age compliment. I hope that grad. school isn't going to age me unduly!

Hugs,
Brina

BallerinaGurl,

That wasn't really a walk, more like a hike! and Polly and I run UP the hills...it's our tradition now...I say "Run! Run UP the hill!" and her tail goes like crazy and we run fast. She is always on leash (we live in a suburb of a city, you have to follow the rules), but that works ok 'cause I run fast.

Next week she's going to stay at a woman named Rebecca's house while I'm in Vancouver. This is a woman who LOVES dogs and boards a couple at a time at her home, very warm and fun and friendly. The first time Polly stayed there, she spent time watching tv with Rebecca...I rarely turn on the tv. When I picked Polly up that time, Rebecca said, "Does Polly curl up with you on the couch every night for tv time?" and I said, "Uh, no, I don't have a couch or a tv in the living room!"

Now I DO have a couch, but this was early on in the separation, pre-divorce, and I wasn't spending much money on furniture yet.

I loved that. Polly learned to be a couch potato without me.

Hugs,
Brina
