Thinking about that magic which flows between two people, sometimes from the very first meeting...the magic which draws us together, which makes us hold each other's gaze and find it impossible to look away. The wonder we feel when suddenly it becomes clear: this person was meant to be in our life.

Do you remember falling in love?

Someone very dear to me was hurt today and is in the hospital. I can't be with him. So instead I am going to flood the universe with loving, healing thoughts and prayers for him, and I'm going to thank God for the gift that is love.

Dear Brina

I hope your friend's injuries are not too serious.
I, too, have a friend in hospital. She was in a mountain biking accident in August. She broke 3 vertebrae in her neck & is paralyzed from her chest down. Very sad, but she's a trooper. Her physio is making steady progress, but she has a long, long way to go.
We are all rallying for her & there have been many successful fundraisers for her & her young family.
I do remember falling in love! My common-law husband of almost 12 years is the love of my life.
We were introduced by a mutual friend & the rest, as they say, is history. When we met it felt like we had known each other for years. (Coincidentally, I am only 3 days older than he).

Love & Happy Thoughts
Dale

Dale and Storm,

I'm able to speak with him daily and I think he will be in the hospital only a few more days: one more surgery to go. Then it will be physical therapy time.

Dale, I know that feeling: meeting for the first time, but feeling that you already know each other> that's such an awesome feeling. When it is mutual, of course, it is that much better!

When I was a teenager, I met someone who made me feel as though I'd been "missing" him for my whole life til the day we met. However, he didn't seem to feel the same. That was a problem for me. I remember how lonely that made me feel. (Why doesn't he feel it, too? I'd wonder late at night.)

More recently, I have had the experience when it's mutually awesome and strong and sure. That's much, much better.

I'm in a romantic mood today. I think I should put on some Tony Bennett and let him sing to my heart.

Dear Brina

Although I've been skiing since I was 5 years old I have not had a serious skiing accident. Nothing more that a twisted knee, bruises or stiffness from a fall.
Thank goodness!
I have skiied in Vermont quite a bit when I was younger. We used to go to Jay Peak regularly, but the last time I was there was over New Year's in 1977.
I don't think a person can ever be too old to ski! There are hills, runs & slopes for all abilities.
Wish your friend "heal well".
Dale

Hi Dale,

The funny thing is, I broke my leg on the "bunny trail" at Bolton Valley, which is one of Vermont's easier ski resorts! It was an equipment malfunction (bindings did not release, I did a forward flip in the air after hitting a mogul, we think, and I crash-landed with one ski off, one ski on).

I was a pre-teen and had to wear a cast for half a year. Not fun. Though in the days of micro-mini-skirts, it was pretty eye-catching to have a skirt up-to-there (you remember 1970!) and a cast all the way up-to-there, and boys signing the cast at the top! giggle

Anyway, I'm sure they make better equipment now, and I have half a mind to resume skiing before I turn 50.

Your friend in the mountain biking accident, is she in B.C., too?

Hi Brina!

on love....YES I can remember falling in love with my husband! It was electric! We spent the first two weeks joined at the hip and I just knew I had met my soulmate! Even just yesterday going over some things in a discussion I was amazed at how I can fall in love over and over again, and half the conversation was about a storage unit! LOL Hey whatever it takes I guess ;)

Love is total Bliss for me!

Join my chat during the show Wed. Take care today.

Molly
