Here's another mp3 from our August concert. This is the "Graceful Ghost Rag" composed by William Bolcom. I love this piece and it was great to have a chance to introduce it to people. Kinda like a friend, you know and love, whom you wish all of your friends could get to know...

In case I didn't make it clear, this is me playing. I hope you can hear it.

Hey Brina,
you're really talented. The Piano looks awesome. What I would give to be able to master the piano. I envy good piano players, would love to be able to sit down in a hotel lobby and play like that,, or kick the guy at Nordstroms off and play something awesome.. Well done.

Hi Brina, I loved your playing, Rene played it to me while I was in the bath. It was perfect, quite heavenly. You play with grace and confidence. Thanks for posting it up for us to hear. Rene loves it as well. Thanks very much Brina.

Thanks, Mikey, for listening and for letting the music do its magic! I hope I didn't put you to sleep in the bathtub.
No, seriously, it's really nice to have the chance to play for you and Rene, virtually speaking.

The Grieg Nocturne was one of my mom's favorite pieces to play. While she was alive, I only rarely played it because if she heard me, she'd stop me! It was hers. She had performed it as a teenager and somehow felt ownership of the piece. I know that sounds weird, but she really did.

She has been gone for five years now, and I finally felt I could play it. When I perform it, I feel her presence, especially in the rest just before the last three chords.
